Scaffold Fittings

As one of the market leaders for the supply of scaffolding products in the UK, we are committed to exceeding all safety standards. Therefore, all of our fittings are tested to all the relevant British and European standards at the manufacturing facility, which is then repeated at independent UKAS accredited and NASC approved UK testing bodies.  This stringent policy ensures our products are of the highest quality possible.

Unlike some competitors, the EN 74 Right Angle and Swivel fittings we have available for hire are the superior Class B type.

We stock a full range of scaffold fittings, some of which are detailed below:

RIGHT ANGLE (Double) Coupler

Load bearing fitting which connects two 48.3mm outside diameter scaffold tubes at right angles.
EN 74 Class A, has a slip resistance 6.10kN
EN 74 Class B, has a slip resistance 9.30kN

Type and Weight:

Pressed Steel (Class A) – 0.83kg
Drop Forged (Class B) – 1.02kg

PUTLOG (Single) Coupler

This fitting has minimal slip resistance and is most often used to connect the transom tube to the ledger to allow scaffold boards to be laid unimpeded.
BS 1139-2.2; has a slip resistance of 0.63kN along the transom tube
BS 1139-2.2; has a slip resistance of 3.90kN along the ledger tube

Type and Weight:

Pressed Steel – 0.62kg
Drop Forged – 0.65kg

Swivel Coupler

Load bearing fitting which connects two 48.3mm outside diameter scaffold tubes at any angles.  These fittings are particularly used for façade, sectional or plan bracing.
EN 74 Class A, has a slip resistance 6.10kN
EN 74 Class B, has a slip resistance 9.30kN

Type and Weight:

Pressed Steel (Class A) – 1.03kg
Drop Forged (Class B) – 1.15kg

Girder Coupler (Gravlock)

This component is used to clamp 48.3mm outside diameter scaffold tubes to steel beams.  They are always used in pairs, one on either side of a steel beam’s flange.  There is no British or European Standard for Gravlocks, this component is tested and conforms to the Australian standard AS 1576.2:1991

Type and Weight:

Drop Forged – 1.56kg

SLEEVE COUPLER

This is a frictional type coupler which connects two 48.3mm outside diameter scaffold tubes end to end.
EN 74 Class B, has a slip resistance 5.50kN

Type and Weight:

Pressed Steel (Class B) – 1.07kg

BAND & PLATE (SET) COUPLER

Load bearing fitting which connects two 48.3mm outside diameter scaffold tubes at right angles.  This fitting can be used where a structural transom needs to support scaffold boards, as the band fixed round the top of the transom does not interfere.

Type and Weight:

Band – 1.40kg
Plate – 0.60kg
